Japan international Takehiro Tomiyasu has been rewarded for the fantastic start to his Arsenal career after he was voted as the Player of the Month for September. Tomiyasu was voted as the best player for last month by the Arsenal fans as announced by the club earlier this week.
Tomiyasu became an Arsenal player at the end of August following his transfer from Italian Serie A club Bologna. The Gunners were reported to have paid around £16m for the Japan senior national team defender.
Arsenal kept two clean sheets in three Premier League games over the course of September 2021 and Japan international Tomiyasu was a key member of the defensive unit. Tomiyasu lined up in the Arsenal defence alongside Scottish left-back Kieran Tierney and the centre back duo of Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes in all the three September outings for the Gunners in the month of September, while England internationalAaron Ramsdale was in goal for those three games.
Japanese utility player Tomiyasu has played on the right side of defence in all his Arsenal games since his transfer from Bologna. He made his Arsenal debut last month during the Premier League matchup with bottom team Norwich City which ended in a 1-0 home win thanks to the second half strike from Gabonese international star Pierre-EmerickAubameyang.
Tomiyasu featured for Arsenal for the second time during the 1-0 away win over Burnley. He played the whole game for the first time in Arsenal coloursduring the Burnley game as he had played around an hour in his first game for the Gunners. Norwegian international Martin Odegaard scored a fantastic first half free-kick to lead Arsenal to victory over the Clarets. Japan international Tomiyasuplayed his third and final Arsenal game last month in the North London Derby which ended in a 3-1 home victory for his team in the Premier League.
